This Privacy Policy explains what information Quill Planner (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Quill Planner app for iPhone and the Quill Planner web workspace (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Quill Planner to keep as much as possible on your device and to change your calendar only when you approve it.
What stays on your iPhone
- Notebook pages and attached files are stored only on your iPhone.
- Device calendar events (Apple Calendar, and Google or Outlook accounts you added to your iPhone) are read on your iPhone with your permission to plan around your commitments. They are not uploaded to our servers.
- Running timers and dictation stay on your iPhone. Dictation uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition.
- If you use Quill Planner without an account, your whole workspace stays on your iPhone.
Information we collect when you have an account
- Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password, managed by our authentication provider, Supabase.
- Workspace content you sync: tasks, Planner blocks, task notes, meeting agendas, assistant chats, memories you ask the assistant to keep, groups and preferences such as your name, role, working hours and priorities. This syncs so the same workspace is available on your iPhone and on the web.
- Technical information: our hosting providers keep standard service logs, such as IP address, device and browser type, timestamps and error codes, to operate and secure the Service.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.
Assistant and AI
- Many assistant actions, such as moving a block, planning your day or drafting an agenda, run directly on your iPhone or in your browser.
- On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, some answers are generated on your device by Apple’s on-device model and do not leave your iPhone.
- When you use live AI, your request and a limited summary of your synced workspace (for example tasks, Planner blocks, group names, role and priorities) are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Notebook pages, attached files and device calendar events are never sent. Under OpenAI’s API policies, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.
- Assistant suggestions that change your calendar are shown as previews and are applied only when you tap Apply.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple, but never your payment card details.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: sync your workspace, show your plans and generate assistant replies you request.
- To keep the Service secure and reliable, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To respond to your messages and send important notices about your account or these policies.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Quill Planner, under agreements that limit their use of it: Supabase (authentication, database and server functions), OpenAI (live assistant replies), Vercel (web hosting) and Apple (App Store, TestFlight and subscriptions). We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account information and synced workspace while your account is active. You can export or erase the workspace stored on your iPhone at any time in Workspace → Data & backups. To delete your account and synced data from our servers, email jaramahofficial@gmail.com from your account email address and we will delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep information for legal reasons. Service logs are kept for a limited time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Synced workspaces are stored with access rules that allow only your signed-in account to read or change them, and files on your iPhone use iOS data protection. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can use Quill Planner without an account, turn off live AI, and revoke calendar, notification and microphone permissions at any time in iPhone Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. To make a request, email jaramahofficial@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Quill Planner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country, where data protection laws may differ.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
